Remix Materials, LLC was founded in 2022 by Scott Phillips. An organic chemist by training, Scott has always been interested in developing new solutions for efficiently recycling plastics and eliminating their accumulation in the environment and landfills. 

 

Scott founded Remix Materials to change the current paradigm for plastic recycling. Typical recycling programs require that plastics are separated into types and handled individually, which is an expensive and time-consuming process. Moreover, many types of plastics (e.g., stretch wrap, clamshell containers, unlabeled plastics) are not recyclable via this approach. In contrast, at Remix Materials all plastics are combined and used as a mixture to create new and innovative materials. No separation of plastics is required! 

 

This approach makes the recycling process extremely easy for consumers, which means that, eventually, most household plastic can be turned into new, high-quality products! 

 

We’re not stopping at just making new materials; we’re also using these materials to make furniture and other products that are sturdy, weatherproof, long-lasting, and beautiful. We’re making benches, planters, and products meant to be show-stoppers and workhorses in and around your home or business.
